KCWI-TV and KDMI-TV have made some technical changes at the station. If the channel numbers are switched on your TV, you may have to rescan your digital converter. To rescan your converter simply turn on your TV and hit Menu on your remote control. Toggle down to Auto Scan and rescan the local stations. Once it has scanned you are all set - KDMI-TV will be on 19.1 and KCWI-TV will be on 23.1. This week Central Iowa was hit with a devastating ice storm, leaving hundreds without power to their homes.

The Red Cross is taking action to ensure that all Central Iowans have a safe, warm place to go to and a hot meal to eat.

A few months ago, the employees here at KCWI were given the opportunity to watch the pilot episode of Life Unexpected, the brand-new series from the CW. Now, we all get along here, but we don’t always agree. One thing we did agree on, however, was how much we love this show!

Picture this, gents. You live above a bar, every night is a party. Sure, you’re 30-something, but this is the dream, right?

Ladies, imagine you’re at the top of your game. Your career is hot, you’re newly engaged to a gorgeous guy, life is good!

Until the day a 15-year-old girl shows up in your life, informing you that you are her biological parent.

Suddenly the title of the show makes sense, doesn’t it? Thus begins the new series. Lux, the aforementioned girl, is seeking the legal status of an emancipated minor after years of being passed around the foster care system. In order to achieve this, she needs the signatures of her biological parents. Will her quest end as she planned, or will Baze and Cate (a.k.a. dad and mom) alter their lives forever by taking her in?

Only in Central Iowa can 20 degree temperatures be called a warm spell. I don't know about you, but I'm still going to stay indoors as much as possible in this weather! Thank goodness the CW has just announced the return of brand-new episodes to some of our favorite shows, as well as the premiere of a fantastic new program, Life Unexpected!

More on Life Unexpected soon, but for now, here's the low-down on KCWI's upcoming primetime schedule!

Monday nights, starting January 18th, at 7pm One Tree Hill has all new episodes! Then at 8pm the long awaited Life Unexpected premieres!

If you miss Life Unexpected on Monday, catch it on Wednesday at 7pm! Wonder what happened to Gossip Girl? No we do not lose it, Gossip Girl moves to Wednesday for the time being, right after the encore of Life Unexpected!

Thursday, January 21st marks the return of new episodes for our award-winning thrillers, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

Smallville is back and new as of Friday, January 22nd!

You wanna be on top? Cycle 14 of America's Next Top Model premieres with a two hour episode on Wednesday, March 3rd.

On Monday, March 8th, Life Unexpected moves up to 7pm to make room for the return of all-new Gossip Girl episodes!

California dreams come true on Tuesday, March 9th as new episodes of 90210 and Melrose Place arrive.

With all of that to look forward to, the cold weather doesn't bother me so much anymore!

To “Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade” fans:

Due to a technical error last night, KCWI-TV was unable to televise in entirety the 2010 “Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade”.

We have rescheduled the entire parade to be televised tonight, January 4, at 11PM and again Sunday, January 10 at 6PM.

Coverage of the 2010 “Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade” includes Des Moines’ own Shawn Johnson interviewing parade participants and overhead shots and close-ups of the Waukee High School Marching Band.

I hope you have an opportunity to watch the parade and I apologize for the technical problems last night.
