Enjoy the web clips and keep watching KCWI! Posted on Friday, 09.25.2009 @ 12:30PM The television overnight ratings came out this morning, showing that the nation's number one new syndicated show is none other than KCWI's The Office. These ratings didn't honestly come as a surprise to me. Few comedies have the ability to make me laugh out loud like The Office. To be perfectly honest, I haven't enjoyed a show this much since Friends. Don't get me wrong, there will always be a special place in my heart reserved from the gang at Central Perk, but even that show has started to become dated. For that reason, we made the decision at KCWI to move Friends to 2p and 5p weekdays, freeing up extra time for The Office from 6-7p. Like most people, when I get home from work and try to relax, the most difficult thing for me is to separate work from home (compounded by the fact that I go home to watch the television station that I work for). I now believe that my new routine of watching The Office when I walk in the door will be the perfect way to separate the two. Posted on Thursday, 09.24.2009 @ 09:00AM The good news never ends! KCWI has more web videos available! Want to catch up on what's happening in One Tree Hill? And for more of that steamy Gossip Girl juice to, well, gossip about... Enjoy! Posted on Wednesday, 09.23.2009 @ 03:45PM Last season, the CW network found great success when they launched the return of 90210 to broadcast television nearly 18 years after the show's original release date. The success of the show was further propelled throughout the season by the rebirth of characters like Kelly Taylor (Jenny Garth) and Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty). It appears that recipe for success will continue this year with the return of Melrose Place. After only two weeks on-air, the show announced today the return of fan's favorite 90's star Heather Locklear. The CW signed Locklear onto the show to reprise her role as the scheming business woman Amanda Woodword. Since the 90's, fans have not flocked far from Locklear despite the few acting roles she has taken since the show ended. After her 199 episodes on Melrose Place and only a couple of years on Spin City, Locklear did little to propel her professional celebrity status through big acting roles. Her personal status, on the other hand, has filled tabloid covers for decades. Locklear's marriage to ex-husband Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi solidified her position as an icon for teens of the 90's. After watching the success that every 35-year-old man's teenage-crush (Jenny Garth) brought to 90210, I have no doubt that Heather Locklear has the power to bring even the most loyal Bon Jovi fan back to 4614 Melrose Place. Posted on Thursday, 09.17.2009 @ 05:00PM The new CW dramas are on-air and getting noticed! The juicy plotlines are hooking audiences nation-wide, but the attractive actors are also getting attention. The good people of tv.msn.com took the time to compile a list of this falls hottest TV stars. Making the cut are six of our own!
First up are the actors portraying the steamy Salvatore brothers from The Vampire Diaries. Ian Somerholder (Damon) and Paul Wesley (Stefan) may be centuries old, but thanks to the immortal youth of vampirism, the phrase "well-preserved" takes on a whole new meaning. Next to make the hot-list are Sara Paxton and Corbin Bleu of The Beautiful Life. Both are "all grown up" Disney alums, now cast as young and dishy models in this Ashton Kutcher-produced drama. Paxton plays the ravishing Raina Mayer, and Bleu puts the body in his embodiment of Isaac Taylor. The final delicious duo star in Melrose Place. Katie Cassidy, who plays Ella Sims, was no surprise as a standout looker; her father is famed heartthrob David Cassidy (The Partridge Family). Jessica Lucas (Riley Richmond) was also chosen as well, which viewers will understand once they catch a glimpse of this gorgeous girl. Tune in to KCWI 23 every weeknight for unbeatable drama and unmatchable eye-candy! Check out Fall TV's Sexiest Stars Posted on Thursday, 09.17.2009 @ 02:30PM ![]() America seems to have an insatiable thirst...for blood. We've already shared how the CW has joined the feeding frenzy by producing the highly anticipated The Vampire Diaries, premiering Thursday, Sept 11. What you may not know, however, is that The Vampire Diaries is based upon the book series of the same name, first published in 1991. The 4-book series, written by LJ Smith, has maintained a huge fan base over the last 18 years. You can even read the first book for free at Harper Collins website! In TV and movies, the author's support is always important. Smith has endorsed our CW series on her website: "Ian Somerhalder is being recognized as a superior villain; and I feel sure that under those brown curls Elena's scheming mind is simply waiting for an opportunity to emerge. Really, guys, the series people have been nice to me lately and I get to hear about (and I hope get, to give to you) freebie things like posters and 'sunscream' and 'Fang' dental floss, all part--along with a blood drive (Starve a Vampire: Donate Blood!) in New York. Even Brazil is all het up about the books and the show. I've waited this long to speak out, and my verdict is: give it a chance."-L.J. Smith As for comparisons to the other hot vampire sagas out there right now, well, this inevitable occurrence has been recognized by all parties involved. Actor Paul Wesley, who plays heartbreaker vamp Stefan Salvatore, admitted in an interview with The Insider.com "that he purposely didn't watch the movie prior to shooting the pilot for his series, because he didn't want it to influence his performance in anyway considering the similarity in subject matter." Kevin Williamson, the show's executive producer, has spoken out on the issue as well: "...the premise is the same: you know, girl meets vampire. But what L.J. Smith did was once you get past that premise...when you read the first book...I was like, 'No way. This is 'Twilight.' But when I got to the second book, you start to realize, 'Oh, my God. Boy, this is a fork in the road. It really does separate.' So we're getting to that fork in the road really quick. And we're really sort of telling the story about a small town, all darkness that lies underneath this town and how this vampire comes to town and sort of stirs it all up."Take some time to explore the links provided within this article, and don't forget to check out the exclusive webisodes, 'A Darker Truth,' as you get ready for the series premiere, Thursday, September 11th!
