Dr. Sandra Hobson has been severely hearing impaired since age 2. Advocates for others with hearing loss and various disabilities. BA and MA degrees from University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. Doctorate from Arizona State University of Osteopathic Medicine in Audiology 2001. Private Practice since 1992 in Des Moines, Iowa AWARDS National, State and local: including DiCarlo from ASHA 1993, Community Awareness award from National SHHH 1994, Thomas Edison award 1994, IOJD H.I.K.E. award 1995, Central Iowa Deaf and Blind Chapter Small Business award 1999. Dr. Hobson has written several published articles on hearing loss, and spoken at National Conferences. 1992 Developed a Law Enforcement training video with local law enforcement and advocacy groups. 2008 Produced through QNA Productions a 50 minute DVD for Caregivers on Communication, Hearing Aids, and Cochlear Implants! Served on the Hospital Communications Access Taskforce for Greater Des Moines Area, Medical Assistance Advisory Council as well as serving as Chair in 1995, and the Taskforce for Iowa Courtroom ADA Accessibility. Provided the Captioning equipment for TV Channel 5 in 2000: Receiving an "Outstanding Contribution Award" from the Iowa Deaf Community. BBB member |
