Dr. Hobson has written several published articles on hearing loss, and spoken at National Conferences. 1992 Developed a Law Enforcement training video with local law enforcement and advocacy groups. 2008 Produced through QNA Productions a 50 minute DVD for Caregivers on Communication, Hearing Aids, and Cochlear Implants!

Served on the Hospital Communications Access Taskforce for Greater Des Moines Area, Medical Assistance Advisory Council as well as serving as Chair in 1995, and the Taskforce for Iowa Courtroom ADA Accessibility. Provided the Captioning equipment for TV Channel 5 in 2000: Receiving an "Outstanding Contribution Award" from the Iowa Deaf Community.
