    On This Date in Iowa Weather History (courtesy of the NWS): 1995: A storm dropped 7 to 10 inches of snow along a swath through western, north central, and northeastern Iowa extending roughly from Logan through Decorah. The highest recorded totals were 12.0 inches at Fort Dodge and 10.0 inches at Estherville, Little Sioux, Mapleton, and Spencer. Winds of 20 to 40 mph blew the snow into drifts 4 to 5 feet deep in some locations and reduced visibility to near zero at times, causing numerous traffic accidents and road closures.

    1992: An EF0 tornado touched down roughly 5 miles northeast of Perry.
